JONTI SHARES NEW SINGLE ‘RAIN’ + PERFORMING AT VIVID LIVE THIS MAY

Announced on The Avalanches ‘Since I Left You’ Block Party bill for Vivid LIVE Sydney this May, gifted multi-instrumentalist, arranger, producer, and vocalist Jonti today unveils new single ‘Rain.’ With a recent appearance at Coachella and currently touring the US with the legendary electronic outfit, ‘Rain’ follows ‘Scrood’ ft. Steve Lacy, the Sydney producer’s first new solo material in 5-years and follow-up to 2011 debut Twirligig and collection of recordings Sine and Moon.

Produced in loving memory of his grandfather, who passed away last year, Jonti says “I made this song a few days after. Wolf [Stones Throw Founder] heard it and convinced me to finish and release it. My grandfather fought hard to spend extra years with us, so with this song I wanted to tell him that I'm going to use his courage to get into the world again and do my thing. So here we are.”

With 3 features on Wildflower, The Avalanches Vivid LIVE Block Party will mark Jonti’s second appearance at VIVID Sydney after his infamous recreation of their first album ‘Since I Left You,’ reverse engineering 3500 samples and recreating the record with a 17 piece band in 2014.

Recently signing to Future Classic, in partnership withLA tastemakersStones Throw Records, Jonti has an array of collaborations that have taken him across the world, sharing stages and studio spaces with his newfound peers. The producer has recorded with Badbadnotgood, Mark Ronson, The Avalanches, Gotye, Hodgy Beats, King Krule, Jagwar Ma and Warpaint and recieved co-signs from from the likes of Earl Sweatshirt, Tyler the Creator, James Blake, Questlove and Toro Y Moi. Jonti most recently lent his unique vocal offering for BADBADNOTGOOD’s rendition of Beach Boy’s ‘God Only Knows’ for triple j Like A Version.
