STORMZY SELLS OUT ENTIRE AUSTRALIAN TOUR

UK grime star Stormzy has sold out his entire July Australian tour. Kicking off in Perth tonight at Metro City, tickets to the full run of shows - presented by Astral PeopleHandsome Tourstriple jComplex and Primary Talent - are now completely exhausted.

In less than a few hours, tickets to Stormzy's performance at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on July 24 and Melbourne’s The Forum on July 27 completely sold out. Second dates scheduled at Sydney's Enmore Theatre on July 25, and Melbourne's The Forum on July 28, sold out in a similar fashion, while remaining tickets to shows at Perth's Metro City on July 20 and Adelaide's Thebarton Theatre on July 21 have now all been snapped up. The tour follows the release of Stormzy’s UK chart-topping debut album Gang Signs & Prayer featuring hits “Big For Your Boots” and “Shut Up” and will coincide with his debut Splendour in The Grass 2017 slot.

Opening for Stormzy on all dates will be Ghana-raised, Sydney-based emcee MANU CROOK$. Holding recognition from The Fader, Pigeons & Planes and Beats 1's Zane Lowe for his flurry of effortless singles - including the recent "Ridin" - be sure to arrive early for a heated set from CROOK$.

23-year-old Stormzy, aka Michael Omari emerged onto the grime scene in 2013, appearing on his record-breaking YouTube freestyles series WickedSkengMan. Omari’s debut EP Dreamers Disease was released the following year, trading in straight up raps for a broad range of musical styles that showcased his artistic and open mindset. Dreamers Disease furthered Stormzy’s climb to worldwide acclaim, when he received Best Male Act & Best Grime Act at the UK MOBO Awards and Best International Artist at the BET Awards. Dreamers Disease soon caught the attention of legendary British TV presenter Jools Holland. Holland invited him as a guest on his renowned live music program Later With Jools Holland, making him the first unsigned rapper to appear on the show, which Stormzy describes as “the most nerve racking thing he’s ever done”.

The London-born artist continues to push the boundaries of grime, and is currently nominated for British Breakthrough at this year’s BRIT Awards. His hugely anticipated debut LP, Gang Signs & Prayers has achieved roaring success. Alongside topping the UK charts, all 16 tracks featured on the Spotify Top 50 in just 72 hours after its release. Having collaborated with the likes of WileyLittle SimzEd SheeranKehlaniBig Narstie and more – there’s no limit to Stormzy’s breadth of talent.

Ahead of performing at UK festivals GlastonburyWild Life and TRNSMT, Stormzy makes his highly anticipated visit to Australian shores this week, supported by MANU CROOK$ on all shows.
