MXG MUSIC FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES FIRST ROUND OF INTERNATIONAL DJs

MXG music festival will kick off their inaugural event in Melbourne on 4 May 2019 at Melbourne Showgrounds.  It’s a date that fans of intergalactic space travel commemorate every year as being one of the most important on the calendar. 

 The event is shaping up to be one of Australia’s most anticipated midyear parties offering the best in Electronic Dance Music performed by some of the true masters of Big Room House & Electro.

 The expansive Exhibition Pavilion at the Melbourne Showgrounds will be transformed into a neon space-themed playground with the planet’s highest-quality stage design, awe-inspiring production and a truly earth-shaking sound system.

 Paired with an innovative floor plan combining GA and VIP areas especially designed and constructed for the event, MXG will offer fans an immersive cosmic experience that will be near impossible to forget.

 “MXG will be an event Melbournians will talk about long after the closing DJ steps off stage” spokesperson for the organisers, Rob Weller proclaims. “It’s a style everyone in our team is passionate about and we know that fans have been waiting for something like this to be announced and now the wait is over. It’s finally happening, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.”

 MXG music festival will feature high-profile international DJs who are regularly featured in DJ Mag’s Top 100 list. The first round of artist announcement has dropped including Quintino, Jay Hardway and Kura

Quintino, the highly talented Dutch DJ and producer who has become one of the leading forces in the global dance music scene today will join the lineup. Working with legendary names like TiëstoDimitri Vegas & Like MikeSteve AokiAfrojack and Hardwell, this is an artist has yet again climbed up in the Top100djs poll for the fifth year in a row and now places #25 in 2018.

In the past two years, Quintino achieved momentous success with dance floor and streaming favourites ‘I Just Can’t’ and ‘Freak’ with longtime collaborating partner R3HAB. He’s back in the country for the first time since his last visit more than 6 years ago.

 The second artist to be announced is Jay Hardway. His uniqueness and innovation established himself as a force when he worked with Martin Garrix on the hugely successful track ‘Wizard’. The track has quickly reached the #1 spot on Beatport and picked up 3.6 million views on YouTube in its first week. The duo released the smash ‘Spotless’ in 2016, which has had over 40 million views on YouTube and still counting.

Further collaborations with fellow scene greats like FirebeatzBassjackersMesto and Mike Cervello have provided yet more dancefloor gold, as have his remixes of Armin Van BuurenBorgeous and Sam Feldt

Hardway is also the host of the globally syndicated Inspire Radio show listened to by millions every week. He has been rewarded with a career best DJ Mag poll result, coming in at #64 for 2018.

Joining them will be Portugal’s KURA, one of Spinnin’ Records’ most acclaimed studio wizards and a force of nature behind the decks.

 KURA has achieved close to 7 million streams on Spotify with his track “Walk Away” and 3 #1 spots on Beatport.  His new release ‘Nothing Else Matters’ is on pace to be his most successful to date, achieving millions of streams and views across platforms in an only a couple of short months.Without doubt he is a rising star, one of the most hyped DJs and producers worldwide.

 

DJ Mag’s Top 100 2018 placed KURA at #39 in the worldwide scenario, his best position ever in this ranking and a sign that much more is coming.

 Further acts will be revealed in the coming weeks.

 “Saying we’re excited about the artists we’ve announced today is a bit of an understatement” Weller says. “But our headliners will blow people away when they’re released in the coming weeks”
