5 APPS EVERY AUSSIE MUSIC FAN NEEDS

WL.jpg

By now we're going to safely assume you got your music streaming apps on lock, whether that be Spotify, Apple Music or one of the others. However, what about the other music related apps out there? It's not just about listening to music, there's also live music, lyrics, music management and music discovery. That's why we formulated this list of what we think are the must have apps if you're a music enthusiast like us. These are the apps we use, and so should you to enrich your entire music experience.

  1. Whatslively

Ever miss out on hearing about a concert after tickets are already sold out, or even worse after the concert happens? Locally developed app, Whatslively, is the perfect solution to this problem, this neat little app scans your music playlists, whether that's on Spotify, Apple Music or Soundcloud and alerts you every time an artist you actually listen to announces a concert in your city, before tickets go on sale. This way you never miss out.

THE APP DOESN'T STOP THERE EITHER, IT LISTS ALL GIGS IN YOUR AREA SO YOU CAN FIND OUT WHAT GIGS ARE HAPPENING TONIGHT OR THIS WEEKEND WITH JUST A TAP OF A FINGER. WE DON'T KNOW WHERE WE WOULD BE WITHOUT THIS APP, A LOT LESS RICHER IN LIVE MUSIC EXPERIENCES, THAT'S FOR SURE.

2. GiggedIn

The best way to describe this homegrown platform is it's the "Netflix for gigs".
You pay a monthly subscription and it gives you exclusive guest list access to a range of gigs happening every month in your area. If you're a live music enthusiast and love checking out a range of different type of gigs, this app is perfect for you. To give you an indication of the range, GiggedIn has large festivals like FOMO and Snowtunes listed, to smaller gigs from EarthGang, Vera Blue, Tkay Maidza and more.

3. Soundiiz

With so much choice now with music streaming apps, and each app offering unique value like Tidal with its exclusives, or Apple Music with Beats1 radio it's hard not to be lured and switch streaming apps.
However, what keeps you from doing this is your saved playlists, tracks, and albums. Soundiiz is a platform that enables you to sync your streaming accounts and transfer saved playlists and albums across in seconds. You can transfer one playlist at a time for free, but if you want to bulk transfer the whole lot it's only $4 per month. The tool works well and for most music it's a perfect sync.

4. Tixel

Tixel is an online ethical ticket exchange that is helping fans, artists and event organisers take a stance against scalpers and scammers.
With prices capped at 10% above face value, verified users and no fake tickets, you know you’ll be getting an authentic experience - both online and at the gig.

Built by and for music fans, it’s easy to see why artists and festivals are recommending their fans use Tixel.

5. Triple J

With a recent refresh, the j app offers convenience for listening to the main station and double j with ease.
It also is the home for the best of j's great content, like recent LAV's and podcasts.
