A Quick Chat with DICE

answers from Lenny

How would you describe the DICE project to a new listener?

DICE started off as four best mates creating upbeat, catchy music for fun and overtime has grown into an established, touring band that will be sure to bring the energy to every performance.

You’ve just released your sophomore EP, ‘Time Will Tell’ (congrats!). Describe it to us!

Our EP ‘Time Will Tell’ is a mixture of emotions relating to the thought process that with time things will work out. It explores the band members personal experiences relating to this theme and is a roller coaster of feelings throughout the songs. There is something for everyone in this EP.

What were some key creative influences that helped shape this EP?

This EP was heavily influenced by our producer / manager, Sam Ford (Tone City Records) who helped us as a band accurately execute our ideas into this piece of music. When writing and recording the EP bands such as Arctic Monkeys and The Strokes had a big influence behind the sound of Eyes Ahead and Silky Blends and Lemonade.

What is one thing you hope listeners take away from ‘Time Will Tell’?

I hope that listeners can take the overall message of ‘Time Will Tell’ and relate it to their own personal experiences. The message is very optimistic and universal so hopefully listeners can relate to it weather that be dealing with hardships or celebrating life.

You recently played Groovin The Moo to a massive audience - how was that experience? What were some favourite moments of the day?

Playing GTM was one of our biggest highlights as a band. Being able to play in front of an audience that big was surreal and the reaction we got from the crowd was amazing. Obviously our performance was a highlight but also just being amongst bands that we are inspired by and catching up with our good friends Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers. The whole day felt like a dream.

Do you have any plans to celebrate now that it’s out in the world?

We will definitely be celebrating this EP’s release! It is definitely the proudest we’ve all been with a piece of music so it’s very exciting being able to share it with the world.“
