A QUICK CHAT WITH ESHAAN

Hey ESHAAN! ‘FIRST CONTACT’  is so cool! Can you tell me a little more about it?

HIya!! So, ‘FIRST CONTACT’ is my debut conceptual EP, and it’s what I like to describe as my “Pursuit Of Perfection”! I wanted to have my first body of work be something memorable so I intertwined the story of finding the perfect version of myself, with my sound. I also wanted to create a sense of false hope as when you’re persisting toward an end goal, most of the time once you get there, you’ll find something else you need to perfect and the story will start again. So in order to portray that, I bought in narration from what I like to call the “conductor” who is fueling this pursuit which asks the bigger questions of control, suggesting our story has already been plotted out. This ultimately brings in the theme of constant looping, like we’re in a simulation I know, very existential stuff! Everything in the EP has its place and a multitude of meanings so there’s always something new to discover!

How did you come up with the storyline and what inspired it?

Well, seeming as this is my first year in the industry, perfection to me is not always how you’d imagine it would be! If I told my younger self that I’d be doing what I am, I would've suckerpunched myself out of disbelief but now, as I'm living it, I’ve realised there's always going to be an insatiable need for more. So, the pursuit for perfection came about as I was traversing my initial days in the industry and when I was reflecting on my past. For me, I've always been fascinated with the universe and asking the bigger questions like how did we get here, what is our purpose so i wanted to push past conventional storylines of music and create something that elevates beyond itself and i think this EP perfectly does that!

So you’re big on concepts, can you tell me how you visually bought everything together?

With my first three singles I wanted to show the world changing around me as I remain the same. Now, as I release my EP, i wanted to inverse that, the world stays the same as I change. All the visuals represent how each track has contributed to this seemingly “perfect” version and if that person exists in another space & time completely…again, very existential!

What do you hope your music can do in the world?

When I started, all I had was myself and my brain, and I needed to build an entire career from nothing. I hope I can be an example for people showing them you can get what you want, you just need to work your butt off and find what works for you. I also hope to elevate peoples' consciousnesses to ask the questions to the universe, no matter what you believe in, seek what will provide you betterment and get what will provide you contentedness.

Are there any shows on the horizon?

YES! But you’ll have to keep an eye out on my socials because we haven’t announced them yet!
