Can you tell us about the inspiration behind ‘Money City’

I think the track is just questioning if we’re valuing the right things, told through this story of a guy who just wants a friend. And ultimately it’s a homage to where we live. A kind of tongue in cheek call out to all the people who’ve ever told anyone to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and get over it.

What was your BIGSOUND highlight?

Reenie: No snoring on the second night

Marcus: Our first showcase at Tomcat!

Anna: The Vietnamese (great restaurant)

Maddy: Great vibes everywhere ALL. THE. TIME.
Jules: Everyone we spoke to knew who we were!

What influences your songwriting the most?

Anna is influenced by her deep despair and tortured soul and Maddy is influenced by vibes and the cosmos.

What’s in store for the rest of the year?

November and December. KIDDING!! Nah we’ve got heaps of great stuff, we’re playing Marrickville Music Festival on Oct 15th, we’ve got our single launch on Oct 20th at The Lady Hampshire (RSVP). And then we’re going back into the studio in December to record some new songs which is super exciting stuff! We’re cooking up a big 2023.
