A QUICK CHAT WITH SACREDD

HEY SACREDD FIRST OFF, CAN YOU TELL ME A BIT ABOUT YOUR SINGLE ‘Tragic’ and how it came to life?

For me personally Tragic is a smooth melodic type track that embodies almost a forbidden love story, its got that chill sexy vibe all while bringing a bit of toxicity to the table of course! I attempted to come through and execute the confusing emotions with confidence, which I like to believe turned out pretty well.

WHAT ARE YOUR INFLUENCES AND HOW DO THEY AFFECT YOUR SONGWRITING?

Honestly my influences seem to be constantly changing, as of the past 12 months I feel like I have definitely tried to expose myself to a lot more Aus hiphop and RnB, and definitely UK drill and drill type RnB too. Personally, I feel exposing myself to more Aus music has helped me grow as a writer in the way of learning how to capture my personal experiences as not only and artist but an Australian artist.

YOUR AN INCREDIBLE LYRICIST WHICH IS APPARENT IN ALL OF YOUR RELEASES. APART FROM PUTTING PEN TO PAPER, WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE INSTRUMENT / EQUIPMENT PIECE?

Being  a hiphop head and also growing up on punk music I would definitely have to say drums! I have a special love for drums which is a major reason why I incorporate live drums into my performances, being good at playing them myself though is another story

CD’S OR VINYL?

I want to say vinyls but CD’s are definitely making that comeback with the early 2000’s steeze doing the    rounds at the moment! I still want to lock in Vinyl’s though, respect to the OG way of listening.

IF YOU HAD TO LIVE OFF ONE COMBINATION SANDWICH AND DRINK COMBO WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Hands down a fresh pork Bah Mi with a Vietnamese iced coffee

WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE MEMORY DURING YOUR BIGGEST YEAR YET IN 2022?

Although the year as a whole was filled with some dope highlights it would have to be playing Listen in, getting the chance to open a festival especially Listen In, is something I had been working towards for years

IF YOU COULD ADD SOMETHING TO THE AUSTRALIAN MUSIC INDUSTRY TO IMPROVE IT, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

I think our music industry is rapidly evolving in a good way, I think just more versatility and authenticity amongst Australian artists.

WHICH HOGWARTS HOUSE WOULD YOU BE SORTED INTO?

A: I’d love to say something edgy like Slytherin but unfortunately, I got too much empathy so I think probably Hufflepuff or Grynffindor

ARTISTS ALWAYS HAVE INTERESTING BACKGROUNDS… DO YOU HAVE ANY WEIRD TALENTS?

Look I don’t know about weird talents, I’m probably a bit weird in general if that counts? Nah but in all seriousness, I can eat a lot of food, like a lot. Not sure if that counts as a talent but surely it counts for something.

WHO WAS YOUR FIRST CELEBRITY MUSIC CRUSH?

it would have to have been Christina Aguilera, specifically in the Dirrty music video, that definitely set off some alarm bells

WHAT’S NEXT FOR SACREDD IN 2023?

More music, more releases, more shows, collaborations, honestly any chance to level up that I can get my hands on is what’s next for me
