A QUICK CHAT WTIH IVANA ILIC

You have an incredible voice that obviously stole the hearts of everyone on UNDSCVRD.
When did you know that you had such amazing talent?

To be honest with you, I always sang around the house when I was younger but I never really stopped and thought about how I sounded until I was a little bit older, around year 7 and 8 is when I began to really start singing and when I tried out for my school musical ‘Seussical jnr’ I was complimented by a few people telling me that I had good voice which when is when I really thought about it and was like ‘oh maybe I can sing’ haha.

What was it like writing and creating with a producer like James Angus?

James was absolutely amazing to work with, he took my vision and my idea and just helped make the song better than I could have ever imaged. He was very genuine and caring and made sure that I was happy with anything that he had done or suggested, and it really did feel as though he was trying to follow how I wanted the song and the ideas I had for ‘better love’ and I could not be more grateful as it turned out incredible.

What was the funniest thing that happened on the show?

Throughout the show there were so many moments that were really funny, but the funniest thing which wasn’t funny in when it was actually happening, but I had went out with all the contestants one night and me and vanessa were ready to go home so we got in an uber and  left to go back to our hotel, I got inside, got changed, layed on my bed and went message my mum and I couldn’t find my phone, I called all the contestants, they all came to my room and looked it for it but nothing, so in my pjs and slippers I ran across kings cross looking for my phone on the streets, turned out it was left in the uber and I got it back the next week !!!

Have you stayed in contact with the other contestants?

Yes, of courseeeee, I still keep in contact with all the contestant some more than others obviously which is a given as all of us are so busy and are working on our music and careers which can make it hard sometimes but overall, we still all talk and check in and I wouldn’t have it any other way!!!

What was your favourite aspect of being thrown into the deep end as an artist?

I just loved learning about how the industry works and being able to form amazing connection with people I never would have had the opportunity to connect with so it was amazing. I loved to work with everyone and just get right into it and just do music and work on my song and do everything that I love so yea I guess everything about being thrown into the deep end I loved.

If you had to live off one food and drink combo forever what would it be?

Honestly this is a very hard question, I’d probably say at this point in time a Bettys burgers crispy chicken supreme and a coke.

Where do you see yourself in 12 month’s time?

In 12 months’ time id love to see myself with a full ep out which is doing amazingly, I’d love to be signed to a label and working on more and more music with them, and just really making a stamp in this industry and finding my voice and audience and really connecting and doing music full time as an artist.

Your song has certainly made its way to new fans, what is the song about?

So my song is pretty much about trying to let go of a relationship and how difficult that can be sometimes I hoped that people who listened to the song and have been through similar experiences where they still really care about the person but are just trying to supress it and move on rather than actually being able to express that there hurt, or that they miss them, etc. would be able to relate to the song in some sort of way.

Who would you like to collab with?

Oo if I could Collab with one person it would probably be Adele, Adele has always been a huge inspiration of mine so to be able to sing a song with her and collab with her would literally be a dream.
