Dark Mofo 2025 Returns to Tasmania with a Bold New Lineup
Tasmania’s iconic winter festival, Dark Mofo, returns from Thu 5 June to Sun 15 June with an additional closing ritual on Sat 21 June 2025. Curated by new Artistic Director Chris Twite, the program features large-scale public artworks, exclusive music performances, boundary-pushing installations, and signature events including Night Mass, Winter Feast, Ogoh-Ogoh, and the Nude Solstice Swim.
With programming spanning Hobart, Launceston and Ulverstone, this year’s festival transforms everything from disused churches to planetariums with provocative art and performance. Highlights include works by Carlos Martiel, Paula Garcia, Nathan Maynard, and a host of Australian-exclusive installations and music acts.
Australian-exclusive music performances include: Tierra Whack, Rival Consoles, Cold Cave, Boy Harsher, Baroness, Clown Core, The Horrors, Crime & the City Solution, Lisa Gerrard, Show Me The Body, Machine Girl, Alabaster DePlume, LUCY (Cooper B Handy), Berlin Atonal’s Nox Omnia, Mong Tong, ŽIVA, and more.
Music lovers can also catch Beth Gibbons, DIIV, Jessica Pratt, Shackleton + Siddhartha Belmannu, Forest Swords, Divide and Dissolve, The Peep Tempel, and more throughout Hobart and regional locations.
