How big are Polaris going to be?

It’s been a meteoric rise to the top for Polaris and they’ve well and truly announced themselves on the Australian hardcore scene. Packing out Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne on Saturday evening, the Sydney metal band played one hell of a show.

Heading up a brutal four band gig with Currents, August Burns Red and Kublai Khan TX, Polaris capped off the night playing through their latest record “Fatalism” mixing in the classics of their back catalogue.

It was a bittersweet event for the Sydney rockers, paying tribute to their late friend and band member Ryan Siew who passed away in June, who front man, Jamie Hails said “He poured his heart and soul into this album like all of us, we miss him and we love you man”.

The band didn’t miss a beat, and being in the room you could feel the emotion and passion of which they played, sounding as heavy, tight, and loud as ever.

Warming up the stage was US metalcore kings August Burns Red, who lit it up with an extremely brutal and tight set full of breakdowns, piercing guitar solos and screams that would make your mother quite concerned.

It’s early stages in the fatalism tour, which will see Polaris play across America and Europe, and it promises to be a tour which will only bring this Sydney group more fans and notoriety which begs the question…
how big are Polaris going to be?
