Review: Alexisonfire - Festival Hall, Melbourne

Words by: Rhys Carman

What an unforgettable night at Festival Hall with Underøath and Alexisonfire! Underøath hit the stage with a polished, powerful performance that was nothing short of epic. Their set was tight and perfectly executed, with the band owning the stage, delivering classic after classic from They’re Only Chasing Safety and Define the Great Line. Tracks like A Boy Brushed Red… Living in Black and White and Writing on the Walls were massive highlights, absolutely pumping the crowd up and showing off the band’s flawless musicianship.

Alexisonfire, as always, were in top form, delivering an epic set full of both their signature heavy jams and softer, more melodic moments. The dynamic range was incredible, taking the audience from intense chaos to delicate, beautiful interludes. George Pettit, as always, brought his high-energy presence, and it felt like he was channeling a bit of energy from Irish rap group Kneecap as he rocked a black balaclava for most of the set. His stage presence was unmatched, creating a chaotic and electric atmosphere throughout, while the rest of the band kept things just as tight and intense. What a show!
