REVIEW: Glass Animals - Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Melbourne

Last night, Glass Animals landed their spaceship-designed stage at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne, and what a trip it was. Touring our part of Earth, the band delivered an unforgettable night, leaving us beyond grateful for their visit.

Frontman Wavey Davey was pure energy—bounding, spinning, and dancing his heart out like he might never stop. His contagious enthusiasm turned the night into a high-energy celebration, and let’s be honest, he’s probably still grooving on stage somewhere. A special nod to their iconic pineapple, which made its much-anticipated appearance during Pork Soda. Dave reminded us all that Australians started the quirky pineapple trend, much to the delight of the crowd.

It’s been a few years since Glass Animals last touched down here, and the packed audience was proof that Australia had been eagerly waiting. This is a band destined to tour here every few years, and honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way.

The setlist was a perfect mix of their discography, including tracks from DreamlandHow To Be A Human Being, and their latest work, I Love You So F***ing Much. Fans were also treated to a nostalgic rendition of Gooey from ZABA, performed with an incredible twist as Dave ventured into the middle of the crowd, creating an intimate and electric moment.

One of the night’s highlights was Creatures In Heaven. The band had placed little notes on every seat, asking fans to light up their phone flashlights and cover them to create a sea of colours. The resulting display was nothing short of magical, transforming the sky into a kaleidoscope of hues—a truly unforgettable sight.

Glass Animals proved once again why they’re beloved in Australia. From the boundless energy to the immersive stage design, they created a show that felt more like a dreamland than a concert. Until the next spaceship landing, we’ll be counting down the days.

Thank You So f***ing Much
