RÜFÜS ‘Bloom’ Launch @ Oxford Art Factory 28/1/16

Just in case a brand new album wasn’t enough for us, RÜFÜS threw the launch party to end all launch parties last Thursday night, in celebration of the sun-drenched creation that is ‘Bloom’.

With a line long enough to attract curious glances from passersby, Oxford Art Factory was the perfect venue to christen the sophomore release from RÜFÜS, having showcased the band’s sound in earlier days.

The night kicked off with tunes from Frames, Yuma X, and Hayden James, before a positively glowing RÜFÜS took to the stage, as if there were no other place they would rather be.

Serenading fans with a delicious concoction of old and new, the boys filled their set list with certified crowd favourites including ‘You Were Right’, (#12 in Triple J’s Hottest 100 earlier in the week), and ‘Like An Animal’ (#28).

‘Imaginary Air’ floated straight into ‘Innerbloom’, proving just how fluid the band’s progression has been.

A barefoot Tyrone finished off the set by launching himself into the sea of adoring fans, promising they’d be back soon to play the entire album.

At the end of the night we were covered in sweat, and damn sure that ‘Bloom’ is, and will continue to be, one of the best albums released this year.
