ST KILDA FESTIVAL DROPS COMPLETE LINE-UP FOR 2017 FESTIVAL

The City of Port Phillip is pleased to announce the coveted line up for Australia’s largest music festival, St Kilda Festival on Sunday 12 February 2017.

The St Kilda Festival Main Stage will play host to Drapht, Emma Louise, Archie Roach, The Aston Shuffle (DJ set), The Smith Street Band, Clairy Browne, Daryl Braithwaite and Mitch King (2016 New Music Stage Competition Winner).

More than 50 of the nation’s hottest musical talents will perform over seven stages throughout St Kilda in what is Melbourne’s favourite free music festival. Crowds are expected to surpass 400,000 on the day.

Proudly produced by the City of Port Phillip, St Kilda Festival is now in its 37th year and continues to flourish. Crowd numbers increase with each Festival and the event continues to evolve, offering greater diversity each year. The talent showcased on each of the stages entertains both locals and tourists alike. Artists receive national acclaim after performing at the event as St Kilda Festival continues to prove it can stand the test of time.

Port Phillip Council Mayor Bernadene Voss welcomed festival-goers from all around the world who are drawn to the City of Port Phillip for St Kilda Festival each year.

“St Kilda Festival has been a part of the City of Port Phillip’s DNA for over 30 years, and is an integral part of our summer celebrations. As a true testament to the Festival, crowds that visit locally and from all around Australia and the world, continue to grow in diversity and size,Cr Voss said.

The Festival has supported the careers of many of Australia’s most loved artists, and helped uncover others. We are really proud of that and being able to offer artists a platform that fosters their development.”

On Sunday 12 February 2017, we will once again see St Kilda’s iconic streets transformed into one of Australia’s largest community events; a fusion of free live music, dance, carnival rides, sports, market stalls, kids’ activities, extended business trading and entertainment for all ages.
