Winston Surfshirt share new single "Be About You", announce single launch and sign to Sweat It Out, Astral People + Niche Productions.

From Sydney's northern beaches, carving their way into the Australian music scene is Winston Surfshirt who today share their blissful new single “Be About You”, as premiered by triple j's Good Nights & Clash. Soulful, melodic and every bit unique, "Be About You" blends artful hip-hop with dream-pop guitar and silky vocals - a superb first offering as recent signees to tastemaker label Sweat It Out, local heroes Astral People and booking agency Niche Productions.

One of Australia's most interesting bands, the six-piece was originally a solo project of singer/producer/rapper Winston Surfshirt and gradually evolved into a musical collective, adopting artists and producers from across the country - a factor largely responsible for their unmistakeable sound. Their unique blend of soul and hip-hop is the auditory equivalent of A Tribe Called Quest splitting spliffs with your parent's favourite band.

Over the past few years, Winston Surfshirt have become vital members of Sydney’s underground live scene, with past performances ranging from sold out headline shows to festival appearances, warehouse gigs and block parties. In 2016 we saw Winston team up with label buddies Polographia providing the buttery vocals for their triple j and Majestic Casual approved track “Sly". Starting off the new year right, they'll be supporting RUFUS on their regional tour of Australia in January and February and holding a single launch for "Be About You" at Newtown Social Club on Saturday, March 25.
