TIMBERWOLF ANNOUNCES DEBUT ALBUM

One of 2017’s most talked about artists is Adelaide singer-songwriter Timberwolf, who today announces his highly anticipated debut album Íkaros set for release Friday, October 27.
 

Featuring previously released, critically-acclaimed singles, “Washed Out”, “Hold You Up” and most recent cut and title track "Íkaros", the album showcases exceptional compositions, genius chord progressions and raw, earnest lyrics across a further nine unheard tracks. Drawing inspiration from a plethora of musical icons including George Harrison, Jonathan Wilson and Steely Dan, Íkaros delivers a modern take on indie rock, enhanced by world-class, self-production.
 
Timberwolf’s debut album has been a long time in the making, not due to a lack of prolific ability, but to multiple vocal surgeries and frequent trips to the hospital this past year, losing his ability to work for months at a time. At last, a fully recovered Timberwolf has produced his most exquisite work to date, a timeless and sincere album, recorded between the NSW Central Coast, L.A. and his hometown of Adelaide.
 
Exploring his Greek heritage, the debut release sees Timberwolf aka Chris Panousakis place heavy emphasis on Greek mythology, Panousakis explains, "The record follows the journey of this one character – Íkaros - (a character re-interpreted from ancient Greek mythology) - from a life of self-preservation and fear of connection, to embracing vulnerability and trust in new connections with fellow humans, especially in romance. It can be a pretty dull and lonely survival if you’re living for self-preservation, and as humans we build and expand into emotional connection and company"
 
To celebrate the release of Íkaros, Timberwolf has announced he’ll be hosting a listening party in a secret location, performing an intimate set of new material from the debut record, which fans can live stream. There will also be a Q&A, lead by live questions from fans posting on the Facebook event pagethroughout the night. In addition, Sydney and Adelaide will also each host an exclusive listening party in a secret location across late October and early November.
