A QUICK CHAT WITH THIRST TRAP

Thirst Trap, we’re thrilled that you could chat with us. How are you? What’s been happening?

We're great! Better then ever. We've basically just been juggling shows, recording, writing, working all that fun stuff.

What was it like recording self ashamed and how did this song come about?

Recording Self Ashamed was heaps of fun! We tried to get a bit more weird with the production on this one in comparison to our previous releases. Self ashamed basically just started with a bass line. The songs basically a tug of war between self-awareness and giving in to temptations.

When it comes to Thirst Trap, what sets you apart from other bands in your genre ?

Maybe what sets us apart is we don't really try to stick to one straight up genre, we kind of just write what comes out which doesn't always end up sounding the same. We all love so many different styles of music so it's fun to just play and let the music speak for itself.

With iconic festivals such as Splendour in the Grass and Falls Festival no longer and maybe Bluesfest’ what would be two festivals that you guys see yourself playing in 2025?

We'd love to play at Laneway and also Bigsound

Last thing if you could pick a band to tour with in Australia who would it be? And why? …..

Haha that's a hard one, there's so many epic bands, but if we're just talking about an Aussie band, it would be pretty cool to tour with Ocean Alley. A few of the boys really like their music, some of our reggae kinda ska vibes would gel well. Honestly we would love to tour with heaps of different bands...
