Can you tell us a bit about what inspires your songwriting?
I write all of my songs with the music first, or a title and then it’s time to join the forces

What are your influences and how do they affect your songwriting?
My mood and music I hear throughout the day are my biggest influences. They both stick with me and guide the types of songs I write.

What’s the creative process like for you?
The creative process for me is always different. Sometimes it’s fast, other times slow and often times my dreams have a big influence on my process.

If you could change something about the Australian music industry what would it be?
I would really love some more live venues around Aus

What do you think life would be like for you if you didn’t have music as an outlet?
It’s really impossible to imagine, my whole life has been filled with music

Is there anyone you would like to collaborate with? Why?
I find so much joy in collaborating with young songwriters, all of them!

What’s your advice to young people who want to make a career for themselves in the industry?
Do not hang around with timewasters, ego trippers or control freaks

Who’s the most interesting person you’ve worked with/met?
I can’t choose just one: Kevin Stanton, Colin Bayley and Steve Balbi

Any plans for a tour on the cards?
Maybe later in the year… In the meantime we have a heap of regular shows, enough to keep my chops alive before embarking on a tour
