‘congrats' seems like a new vibe for you - tell us more about how the track came about!

I was actually inspired by an episode of love island a few years ago haha! For anyone who watches, it was the episode where they return from casa amor and they find out if their partner stayed loyal or not while they were away. One of the boys had strayed and the girl was left crushed. I told my friend Taylah (an incredible songwriter!) that I'd love to write a song about the feeling of being cheated on, so we sat down and wrote this sassy, empowering anthem. We were so happy with it's dark feminine energy, it really was everything I had hoped!

We can hear so many influences in your sound - from country to tate mcrae - how do you mesh them together?

Country music is where my heart is, it's what I grew up listening to, so it has had a big influence on my voice. BUT, I have also fallen in love with that alt-pop genre that artists like Tate McRae & Lennon Stella kill it in. So I think while my music - production wise - leans more towards alt-pop, my voice still has that country vibe to it so I think that's how I mesh the two! I also write most of my songs on guitar which immediately give it that country feel.

We know Brisbane / Sunny coast producer HARRY FOX is your main guy for collaboration - how did you guys meet?

My friend took me to one of Harry's shows so that's where I first met him! A few weeks later, we saw each other at a festival in Cairns and we got chatting about music. I said I'd love to get my songs produced but I had no idea how, and he said that's exactly what he does! So I went to his studio and we started making our first ever song 'eggshells'. I was very blessed to meet Harry, not only is he my producer but also a ripper of a friend!

A fun one - if you could do a track with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?

Ooooo this is super tough. I feel I would have to say Julia Michaels. Her raw, heart-wrenching lyrics coupled with her creative production and unique voice would be such a dream to work with. I would learn so much from her in terms of songwriting, and she has a great range of genres that she explores - it would be unreal to create a track with her!

What do you have planned for the rest of the year? Is there more music coming?

I certainly do have some surprises planned...there may be a few more singles in the works! Perhaps more if all goes to plan...stay tuned!
