A QUICK CHAT WITH SICK VISOR

What was the inspiration behind your latest track ‘My Legs Feel Good In My Pants’?.

I (Alex) got the idea for the song when I was at a music festival. I was just having a really good time with my friends and I kind of stopped and realised how much of a good time I was having. I wrote down ‘my legs feel good in my pants’ in my phone cause I felt it really represented being grateful for all the little things going on.

How did Sick Visor form?

We formed in the deepest darkest pits of Melbourne lockdown in 2021 - we were both living together and realised that there was truly nothing else to do apart from start a little band. Katie plays drums and Alex plays guitar and sings and plays bass and does everything else so it was a perfect combo!

Which city are you most looking forward to playing on the tour?

Melbourne and Hobart!

It is super exciting that we’ve only been a band for a short period of time and we’re heading down across the pond to Hobart (and can’t wait to play with The Sleepyheads).

Our EP launch in our hometown of Melbourne will also be a special one - we’ve got some amazing bands, the Lazy Susans and the Tullamarines on board. Can’t wait!

Which album do you have on repeat right now?

I (Katie) can’t stop listening to Midnights by Taylor Swift. I listen to it every day in the shower, in the car, whilst I’m making breakfast. It’s a problem at this point.

I (Alex) have been rinsing the new Sly Withers record Overgrown. They’re such a good band!

What show are you binging at the moment?

Kath and Kim always and forever.

Which album best represents each of you?

I (Alex) will unconfidently say Weezer (Red). It’s not the best but it’s trying its best!

I (Katie) reckon I am Warrior by Kesha. There’s some absolute hits and some absolute misses, and some really wacky songs - it’s ‘chaotic good’ in album form (seriously go listen to that record again, it’s so good).

Best road trip snacks?

BBQ shapes until you end up with red dust all over you and all over the car!! Oops.

What’s in store for the rest of the year?

We’re releasing our EP ‘For Wise People Who Appreciate Quality’ on November 24 and are taking it on tour in November December! Super excited to drop these songs and go on our first little tour! Then we’ll probably have a big rest and write some new tunes.
