A QUICK CHAT WITH SUNSICK DAISY

How did Sunsick Daisy form?

We formed at a songwriting workshop in 2021 held by Music SA called Jams. We decided that we really clicked and decided to form a band!

What was the process like recording your debut EP?

It was pretty fun and very fast paced, however Kane had a faulty lead that we recorded with all week, so they had to re-track all the guitars whilst finishing year 12. Our time in the studio was fueled by McMuffins and coffee from the nearby servo every morning.

What’s your favourite show you’ve played so far?

Supporting Ball Park Music at Hindley Street Music Hall! It was such a surreal experience and they’re literally the nicest people ever.

Which album do you have on repeat right now?

Sarah: Nilotic by Elsy Wameyo

Kane: In the end it always does by The Japanese House

Kev: Light Moving Time by Babehoven

Jackson: Dance on the Blacktop by Nothing

What show are you bingeing at the moment?

Sarah: Bones

Kane: Adventure Time/Fiona and Cake

Kev: Attack on Titan

Jackson: Workin’ Mums

Which album best represents each of you?

Sarah: Find Yourself Alone by Keeskea

Kane: Souvlaki by Slowdive

Kev: Heaven or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins

Jackson: Don’t Let Go by Dear Seattle

Best road trip snacks?

Guess we’ll find out when we’re on the road in January! Until then, we’d have to say salt and vinegar crisps and lolly dinosaurs

What’s plans for 2024?

Releasing new music, touring, and recording more!
