LISTEN: Donatachi - 'In Rotation' ft. Gustine
Sydney producer Donatachi bounces into the second half of 2017 with latest single 'In Rotation', featuring the bouncy vocals of French singer Gustine. Not straying from his distinct and infectious brand of pop-beats and sugary hooks, 'In Rotation' is the product of Donatachi's time spent in Yoyogi, Japan, and even features a sample of the Yoyogi train station jingle.
The collaboration with French vocalist, producer, and classically trained harpist Gustine came about after becoming friends on social media. "I was so obsessed we her output as a vocalist and producer in her own right. She has this amazing almost childlike cheerleader vocal performance and I knew she would be perfect for the feeling that I wanted to convey with the song,” says Donatachi.
Donatachi rose to prominence in 2016 after glittery single 'Bunny Island' - his collaboration with fellow Sydney producer Oh Boy and Brisbane pop wunderkind Mallrat - racked an impressive 86K plays on Soundcloud. It then scored a release through Diplo’s imprint label Good Enuff (Zeds Dead, Dillon Francis and Major Lazer). Following up with the release of 'A/S/L' in early 2017, featuring Tashka and Blair de Milo, Donatachi rapidly garnered over one million plays on Spotify - a huge accomplishment for a fiercely independent new artist.
With remixes and a debut EP set for release later this year, expect more from this incredibly inventive producer soon.
