SENSIBLE J SHARES VIDEO FOR DEBUT SINGLE "FIRE SIGN"

After releasing his debut standout single “Fire Sign” featuring Remi Kolawole and Sampa The Great, one of Australia’s most celebrated hip-hop producers/collaborators Sensible J, today returns with the accompanying video.

The clip tells a tale of three friends enjoying the antics of life on tour, shifting between scenes of crowded live performances, studio recording sessions and traversing the streets of London. The video also builds on the song’s integral themes of culture and community, as Sensible J, Remi and Sampa engage with various members of London's downtown neighbourhoods, promoting harmony and family. The trio were in the UK for a select series of shows and festival appearances, seeing REMIperform at Brighton Festival via invitation of curator Kate Tempest, and Sampa The Great appear at The Great Escape.

Released earlier this year on Sensible J's co-run House of Beige label, "Fire Sign" featured his musical and fellow House of Beige partner in crime Remi Kolawole (collectively known as REMI) and frequent collaborator Sampa The Great. Premiering on triple j’s 2017 with Richard Kingsmill and Clash Magazine“Fire Sign” made waves both internationally and on local shores, an unsurprising result due to the calibre of each collaborator. The song garnered strong support from the likes of Indie ShuffleJunkee and Tone Deaf along with FBi Radio and triple j via full rotation additions.

“Fire Sign” was also the name of the mammoth national tour of which REMI and Sampa The Great embarked on earlier this year, selling out shows at Sydney’s beloved Oxford Art Factory and Melbourne’s 170 Russell. With a focus on community and music, the "Fire Sign" tour featured handpicked supports and surprise guests in each city. Each night began with a coin toss to determine who would play first and who would headline, encouraging punters to come down early and stay for the entirety of the event.

An incredible debut single and thoroughly celebrated, “Fire Sign” is lifted from Sensible J’s forthcoming debut solo album, set for release in the coming months. After a knock-out performance from REMI at Sydney’s One Day Carnival over the weekend for the Red Bull Music Academy Weekender, be sure to keep an eye out for more new music from Melbourne’s favourite producer.

'Fire Sign (feat. Remi and Sampa the Great)' is the first single from producer/multi-instrumentalist Sensible J's debut record which is due out on House of Beige early 2018.
