Following the release of three standout singles in the past year, critically-acclaimed singer/songwriter Timberwolf (Chris Panousakis), returns with his highly-anticipated debut album Íkaros.

Íkaros is comprised of twelve stunning tracks that showcase exceptional vocal and compositional ability. Undeniable captivating from the outset, Timberwolf opens with most recent offering and title track "Íkaros". Slow-burners "Washed Out” and "Silent Game" follow, exposing Panousakis’ exquisite vocals, perfectly complimented by stripped back acoustic instrumentation and grand piano arrangements. The pace swells with "Hold You Up", before leading into the instantly impressionable "Vulnerable Heart". The song stuns with genius chord progressions, heightened by mesmerising vocals and string accompaniments, reminiscent of Silverchair's Diorama-era.

Similarly, Chris surrenders himself completely in 7-minute ballad “Why Won't You Love Me”, passionately pleading heartfelt lyrics with raw vocals. Psychedelic bridge track “Hot Rain”, brings the listener back into reality, before leading into the sun-drenched psychedelic guitars of “Stevie”“Pick Yourself Up” carries the bright mood a little further, introducing synth-heavy soundscapes before stripping down with poetic ballad “Everybody’s Lover”. Finally, ethereal closing track “Seabird”beautifully encapsulates the meanings and influences behind the album, leaving the listener completely satisfied. Drawing inspiration from a plethora of musical icons including George HarrisonJonathan Wilson and Steely Dan, Panousakis delivers a modern take on indie rock enhanced by world-class production.

"The record follows the journey of this one character – Íkaros  - (a character re-interpreted from ancient Greek mythology) - from a life of self-preservation and fear of connection, to embracing vulnerability and trust in new connections with fellow humans, especially in romance. It can be a pretty dull and lonely survival if you’re living for self-preservation, and as human’s we build and expand into emotional connection and company" - Panousakis

Since emerging in 2015 with debut EP Flux, Timberwolf has pushed boundaries with his unique and authentic songwriting and crafty compositions. 2016's single "Something You Said" led to signing with US publisher Third Side Music and prestigious Australian booking agency Select Music. Following on, he shared his first two album cuts in "Hold You Up" and "Washed Up", which landed him on support duties for Amy Shark's sold out national tour; together with consistent applause from triple j and community radio, Timberwolf has secured a well-deserved national fanbase.

It's clear by this debut full body of work, that Timberwolf is one of Australia's brightest and best - delve into Íkaros and be sure to catch Timberwolf live this summer as he supports Lime Cordial and The Tesky Brothers on both their national tours, alongside festival appearances at Adelaide's Root DownWoodford Folk and Rockhampton's One Hot Night
