What inspires Chymes?

Can you explain your upcoming release Worship? What inspired it and what musical and lyrical elements are the most important?

Worship is my understated bad bitch anthem. I wanted to write a track that still felt very much like Chymes but had this new dark attitude. It’s about feeling powerful and a song that is a reminder to yourself that you deserve to be praised and respected. It’s quite fun song in my opinion.

Can you describe your musical evolution? What are the milestones and turning points
that have been most significant? As your career has evolved, how has your music evolved?

At the end of 2018 I listened to Charlie Puth’s “Voicenotes” album and it literally changed my life haha! I was like damn, this is so clean and tight, and I wouldn’t change a single thing about any of those songs. I was completely addicted and it motivated me to push myself into writing more pop music. I have always been a pop lover at heart but I guess I needed to evolve to get myself there as an artist.

What inspires you?

I typically will hear or say a word that sparks an idea or feeling and then quickly write it down in an app on my phone. Then I’ll spend a few minutes fleshing out more words to fit the concept or story and then I’ll take it to another writer to help bring it to life. Or sometimes I hear a song and I’m like OOF I wanna create something that FEELS like that.
