THE KITE STRING TANGLE RELEASES 'THIS THING WE GOT + NOMINATED FOR ARIA AWARD

It’s been a massive 2017 so far for Danny Harley aka The Kite String Tangle. With his debut self-titled album just nominated for an ARIA Award, today the Brisbane singer/producer/multi-instrumentalist showcases the album’s next single 'This Thing We Got', accompanied by a captivating live performance video. Currently on the road bringing his album to life on stages across the country, this weekend sees The Kite String Tangle performing two shows each in Melbourne and Perth, the last stops on the national tour.

Reflecting on the track, Harley says “I wrote this tune right at the very end of the album writing process, and it almost didn’t make the album. It’s got a really Californian feel to me, and it feels like a good cruising road trip song. Lyrically it’s concerned with the honeymoon period and those lovely butterflies you get when you’re dating someone and realise that it’s pretty great and you could probably hang out forever."

The Australian album tour has seen Harley and his full band perform blistering sets to sold out venues in Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide so far, with Exist. Recordings’ label signee Brisbane producer Golden Vessel, and electronic indie songstress Austen along for the ride. The album tour comes in the wake of The Kite String Tangle’s AUS/NZ support for US electronic duo Odesza, a support at the Brisbane Festival for London Grammar, a co-headline slot on Red Deer Festival and his much talked about Splendour In The Grass set. And there’s no rest in sight, with news today that he’ll be joining the Sounds Australia Trade Mission to South America next month for a series of showcase performances, after his album debuted at #5 on the Chile iTunes chart.

The Kite String Tangle album (released via Warner Music Australia) reached #1 on the iTunes Electronic charts and made a Top 10 debut on the iTunes Album chart. The first album single 'Selfish' has amassed 2 million streams and was followed by 'The Prize' feat. Bridgette Amofah (Rudimental) which received high rotation on national radio.
