Experience three unique remixes of Hier’s shimmerying & bouncy single “Turn Around” by emerging Aussie producers

Armed with familiar shimmering synthesisers and unique future bass flair, Brisbane producer Hier is set to turn plenty of heads and get shapes flyin’ with the three unique remixes of his latest single and catalogue of remixes.

Hier (pronounced “high-er”), the moniker of Scott Peachey, has been crafting jagged beats and sparkling electronic soundscapes in his Brisbane studio-bedroom from as early as 2014. After releasing several praised tracks and remixes last year through the Soundcloud of local collective The South East Grind, Hier is back with a sparkling and pulsating dance track that combines the best of his unique style and an unconscious nod to idol Flume.

Mastered by Kevin Grainger at Wired Mastering (Tiesto, Kaskade), Turn Around” is Hier’s third release of 2017 following his pulsating electronic jam “Affinity” and throbbing pan flute remix of Rae Sremmurd and Travis Scott’s “Swang”

Hier’s “Turn Around: Remix EP” features killer remixes from Melbourne trap producer LOJACK, Perth tune-smiths Oriental Cravings, and new Sydney producer Built On Water. The remixes showcase the unique sounds of each emerging Australian producer, building upon the glistening, bouncy soundscape of Hier’s original saccharine party-starter.

“After the initial success of the single it made sense to release a remix EP to allow other artists to put their own spin and flair on the track. I chose three friends of mine who are all emerging producers, and who I believe have the potential to do great things over the next few years. Each remix is so different, so I’m very excited for everyone to hear them!” says Hier.

Lyrically about being so intoxicated the world’s spinning but everything feels exaggerated and sounds accentuated, “Turn Around” is an instant floor-filler packed with deep bass and tinkling synthesisers. The accompanying music video perfectly complements the soaring voice of French vocalist Wild Fox and Hier’s playful and glossy electronic soundscape.

Created by Jordan Madigan, the video begins with a metallic landscape populated by colourful mushrooms and palms trees. As the production intensifies the visuals zoom past purple rocky outcrops, dense forest, and wacky inflatable men, before steadily descending into continuous flashing and glitchy kaleidoscopes.

“When I first released the single, my mate Jordan approached me and offered to create the music video. The graphics Jordan and I decided on were heavily inspired by the song’s vibe – I wanted something happy and cute, so I think the music video turned out really well,” says Hier.

“Turn Around” marks a major step for Hier as he continues to incorporate more vocals into his production style.

“I think the instrumental adds a positive, party feeling to the vocals. I remember when I first made the track I couldn’t stop moving my feet while listening to it, the beat and melody are just so catchy!” says Hier.

Scott Peachey’s first musical incarnation was ‘Peachey’ in 2014, during which he won a remix competition for Major Lazer’s “Aerosol Can”. In late 2015 Peachey transitioned into his new alias ‘Hier’, as a way to make music that had more emotion and depth while retaining clear dance elements.

Under his ‘Hier’ guise, Peachey has released a handful of tracks including his acclaimed remix of Fetty Wap’s “Again”, and singles “From You” with LOJACK (Melbourne) and “Shifted” with Holly(Portugal). Listen to Heir’s recent remixes HERE
