POW! Negro head around the country for the first time

Last weekend, WA audiences were treated to the smack in your face that is a POW! Negro live show. Launching their long-awaited debut EP Jasmine & Licorice, the six-piece played a string of shows in WA which fuelled their desire to show their wares to the rest of the country.
 
Kicking off with a showcase at Brisbane’s BIGSOUND in September, POW! will give the east coast a taste of their trailblazing live show and hard-hitting singles with shows in Sydney, Wollongong and Melbourne. The band will be joined by some solid supports along the way, including Godrigruez, who makes Sampa The Great’s beats (Syd, the Gong), and Kuzich (Per) who hits the skins for Taku and Cam Avery. Back-up singer to Hiatus Kaiyote, Jace XL will co-headline The Gasometer (Mel), plus there’s a bunch of other legends jumping on board.

Rapidly building a solid list of supporting slots including Remi, Sampa The Great, and Blackalicious, along with festival slots at Groovin the Moo and Southbound, a POW! Negro live show is infectious, joyous and something well worth submitting yourself to.
 
The east coast shows will feature singles from the debut EP, including “Hidle Ho!”, “Money For Portraits” and “Hold My Tongue”. If you can’t wait until September, the EP is available now from Bandcamp with a “pay what you wish” offer.
