A QUICK CHAT WITH SEASIDE

What was it like playing such a major festival like Splendour in the Grass?

It was a definite “This is what we want to do every day” vibe. The whole weekend was incredible. We are very thankful to everyone who made that happen and can’t wait to get another opportunity to perform on such a big stage!

Tell us about your experience playing alongside Angus and Julia Stone?

They were very kind and generous to us on the tour! Very inclusive the whole time...pre, during, post show we were all hanging, so it was great to feel welcome and be a part of that tour. One to remember!

What has been your favourite performance so far and why?

Our most recent show was amazing! We played at The Mountain Goat Valley Crawl in Brisbane and the turnout was amazing. We recorded that set live, so there will be a video for it soon for sure!

How did you come up with the name Seaside?

There wasn’t much thought to be honest. Darcy suggested it one day and we happened to drive past a sign that said ‘Seaside apartments’, so it was a bit of synchronicity. We realised later that Facebook won’t accept the name “Seaside” so that’s a shame, and also if you google ‘Seaside’ about 1000 stock images of beaches pop up and links to swimwear labels haha. It is what it is.

Does Seaside have a routine to prepare before every show?

Few beers and an early dinner are usually the routine. I do wish we all put our hands-on top of each other in a huddle and said “Ducks Fly Together” or something.
