BILLY FOX REVEALS MESMERISING NEW SINGLE 'TASTE'
Sydney-based indie-electronic artist, Billy Fox, has returned with his latest self-produced cut ‘Taste’ – mixed by Chris Collins (Tigertown, Middle Kids, Gang of Youths) and mastered by Steve Smart (Flume, Empire of the Sun).
‘Taste’ continues to demonstrate Fox’s ability to produce genre-bending compositions, laying down sultry pulsating beats that meld with soul-infused vocals likened to James Vincent McMorrow, and beautifully capped off with intricately-layered digital soundscapes reminiscent of SOHN & Aquilo.
Fox describes the inspiration and story behind the song –
“Taste is really about only realising how much you needed something when it is gone. Taking things for granted is such an easy trap to fall into, so we need to be aware of the important parts of our lives and treat them with care. I wrote, recorded and produced this track entirely at my home studio.”
Since releasing his critically acclaimed debut single ‘Monuments’, Fox has garnered strong support from the likes of triple j, Spotify and Hype Machine featuring in their top 10 Now charts with recent single ‘Avalanche’. Amongst recording new material and completing a short East Coast tour for his last single ‘Shapes’, Fox recently collaborated with up-and-coming producer, Mookhi, on her debut single ‘Foul Play’ which was widely embraced by the online tastemaker community and added to spot rotation on triple j.
Billy Fox will be launching ‘Taste’ in Sydney on Friday 30th June, alongside Evan Klar and h.eund. The accompanying video for ‘Taste’ will be released in the coming weeks, alongside a national tour.
‘Taste’ will be released independently on Wednesday June 28th, available worldwide via Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes and all other good digital retailers
