Globally-acclaimed Sydney duo Flight Facilities unveil their new single and video "Stranded", out today on Future Classic. Featuring Broods, Reggie Watts and Saro"Stranded" is the duo's most compelling piece of work to date, re-visiting the paramount themes carved out in 2013's cult song "Clair De Lune". Arriving with accompanying visuals, "Stranded" navigates a story of struggle, loyalty and unconditional love.

Recorded across three continents, "Stranded" is a globally crafted piece, calling on a calibre of collaborators from around the globe, each playing their role in the considered execution of the track. NZ-born, LA-based duo Broods, fellow LA vocalist Saro and frequent collaborator, comedian & musician Reggie Watts band together for an intertwined vocal delivery, recorded across Los Angeles and Montana. Meanwhile Sydney’s Touch Sensitive, renowned pianist Piers Lane and Warpaint’s Stella Mozgawa provide the stunning bass, piano and drum arrangements, all recorded in London. Working closely with Grammy-Award winning musicians Eric J Dubowsky and Davide Rossi, the duo shift away from their traditional production approach, striving to achieve their ultimate goal of “Stranded” not only being an exquisite piece of music, but a standalone artistic statement. Flight Facilities explain:

"We started our (Flight Facilities) project almost 10 years ago, intent on collaborating with amazing artists. Given an opportunity, with 7 of the most talented musicians to ever cross our path, we wanted to bring something special to life. We hope you enjoy Stranded as much as we enjoyed making it.”

Filmed in a decommissioned prison in Sydney, "Stranded" is brought to life under the vision of international award-winning director Tom Noakes who explores the relationship between two lovers and the plethora of emotions that can surface in a simple human embrace. To convey every one of these human complexities meant creating a surreal, transcendent and operatic experience, one that the audience can share in the embrace. Noakes explains:

“I trust it’s a common human experience no matter who you are or where you’re from. A sherman returning from sea, refugee, soldier, explorer or inmate; that singular embrace has the personal significance of a neutron star...To cinematically convey this emotion, I’ve taken the ‘kid being carried to bed,’ metaphor I used before, literally. To reduce a hulking inmate to a weightless child being lifted by his lover.”

“Stranded” is Flight Facilities' most complex and hard-hitting track to date, boasting a musical approach fans haven’t heard since the timeless “Clair De Lune”. Since the duo's inception, Flight Facilities have worked at cementing their place in the worldwide electronic music scene, with “Stranded” now placing them in a league of their own.

Having already endured a tremendous year; returning to airwaves with “Arty Boy”, which has since accumulated over 4 million online streams, topped Hype Machine and received official remix treatment from Joe GoddardJarreau VandalSwindail, Dom DollaNinajirachiSet Mo and Manila Kila. The duo also made their Boiler Room debut back in July and saw worldwide support from Earmilkmixmagand Indie Shuffle.

"Stranded" arrives with an abundance of hope and curiosity. With each listen, you explore the track in an evolved setting, knowing full well what Flight Facilities are capable of. Immerse yourself in "Stranded" and be sure to keep an eye out for their new live show - it may be closer than you think.
