Hey Sad Boi, thank you for taking the time to sit down with us! You seem to be super busy releasing singles every couple of months. How has the COVID-19 / Isolation affected you?

No problem, thanks for the support and interest you’ve shown. Yeah absolutely there's no sleep for any artist on the hustle in Australia. Really I was isolated in the living room before covid-19 and isolation was a thing, but I’m grateful it didn’t affect me all that much grind wise and I’m pretty comfortable in my own mind so when it came to isolation I really wasn’t affected all too much either.

What was it like working with A$AP Twelvyyy and how did that come about? Killem goes so hard!

Yo thank you, and shout out to Dj $kidrow and 12vy one time absolute legends! It was a dream come true to collaborate with members of the A$ap mob, definitely one of my biggest inspirations to this day.

It came about last year while 12 and Skidrow were touring for Groovin The Moo. They were out in Waterloo shooting a video and word got out so I came through with a couple homies to really just get to meet one of my favourite artists, but yeah I approached Skidrow because I heard he produced and he threw me a beat pack to go through that night. I went through them, recorded a couple demos and went to meet him again the following day to finalise the beats, so I bought a megaboom and bumped the bars I threw over his beats (one of which being “HI LO ft. INFERNO” ) and yeah they were rocking with it so we got to talking exchanged details and they let us kick it with them at a lee’s party that was supposed to be private. Definitely a night i'll never forget! The rest is history.

Speaking of collabs, you’ve been involved in a few. Can we be expecting heaps more collaborations + features down the track?

Yeah absolutely! So this coming EP is a collaborative project all beats produced by “MVSR” and written/performed by me. I can't say too much but definitely expect plenty more local collaborations coming up this year!

Your new single ‘Second Last’ is a single off your forthcoming EP. Can you take us through the meaning of the song and what it means to you?

Second Last expresses the themes of fake love, betrayal and the feeling of being placed second last (position) for someone or something. It firstly addresses betrayal and how we can either choose to live in it or make our seconds last (time) and rise higher, stay in constant competition with yourself. The break away in the middle section of the song explains a way in which substance is affecting us in the same way in which a person would betray us, it's a hard topic to speak on but action and consequence is something that all people experience. Break free from whatever it is that's holding you back!

Second Last is certainly showing some maturity from you, what else can fans expect from the rest of your EP?

We’ve got some amazing visuals coming up real soon! Also expect crazy slapping beats produced by MVSR, a sneaky piano feature from my brother Aidan Rosa and a dope feature verse from the homie Rg Wings!
