Introducing PURSE

Congratulations on the release of 'Speak'! Can you tell us a bit about the inspiration behind the track?

Thank you! The track reflects on some issues I was having a few years ago with a particular person. I was talking to my Pop at the time and he stressed to me the importance of communication in any relationship. Whether that be a partner, a friend, a coach, he said the secret to any great relationship is to speak.

How did your artist's name come about?

I wish there was a cool origin story behind this but really it's just a nickname from footy. When I was being introduced to the group they got my name wrong and I’ve been PURSE ever since.

When you're not performing, writing and recording as PURSE, what are you up to?

I love my Aussie Rules but usually you’ll find me hanging out with friends at gigs.

What tracks have you had on repeat lately?

I’m guilty for flogging Didirri’s new track The Critic at the moment. I'm also loving the new Hockey Dad and Spacey Jane albums!

What should we expect to hear and see from PURSE for the rest of 2020?

New music for sure and fingers crossed some lives shows too. Gigs play such a vital role in the industry and I’m chomping at the bit to be back on stage.
