After a triumphant return earlier this year with dance floor favourite and Hype Machine #1 “Lay Down”, recent cut “No Other High” and newest single "Lose It All" (as premiered earlier this week on triple j), Sydney’s much-loved producer Touch Sensitive is finally ready to unveil his highly awaited, debut album Visions - out today on Future Classic.

From the touch of play, an abundance of nostalgia hits as we are taken back to 2013 with a “Pizza Guy” interlude acting as a bridge to present day. “Lay Down” arrives next with purpose, demanding every inch of your attention with its driving beat and generous hook. As a whole, the album feels impeccably organic with tracks like the ebullient “Veronica” and the familiar “No Other High”, a clear progression from Touch Sensitive's earlier work. Meanwhile, the RnB-fused “Lose It All”, the echoing “Known Better” and galactic character of “The Mystery of Cats”, shine light to the collective influences that have inspired this long-awaited full body of work. “You Are My Last Chance” tributes bass player Verinda White, before a jazz melody trickles into closing track “Putting On Airs”, bringing the album to an end with hints of PrinceEnya and Italo. While Visions is a clear dance record, the foundations can be traced to swing, classical, RnB and the late 70s Fairlight synthesisers, alongside an ode to the renowned catalogues of KPM Music Library.

Touch Sensitive, otherwise known as Michael Di Francesco has spent the last four years perfecting his debut album; crafting, collecting and absorbing inspiration, while still maintaining a proverbial approach to its production. Recorded between Sydney, LA and New York, Visions features an array of talent including LA-based producer Harriet Brown on “Comfortable”, Brisbane-vocalist Tori Zietschon “Two Walls” and New York artist WILLS on closing track “Putting On Airs”, with Francesco leading a heavy rhythm section throughout.

Affectionately described as Future Classic’s ‘spirit animal’, Touch Sensitive first made us believe in miracles in 2004, with his debut single and global DJ favourite “Body Stop”. In 2012, the collaboration “Real Talk” with Sydney export Anna Lunoe arrived as his second offering. The synth-heavy track stayed atop of Beatport’s Indie/Dance Charts for five months, recognised as the 'underground dance track of the year' worldwide. Then in 2013, the release of his spacey slow-burner “Pizza Guy”, cemented Touch Sensitive as electronic music's MVP.

On the stage, Touch Sensitive has become a festival favourite, having appeared at Splendour In The GrassFalls FestivalThe PlotLanewaySoundscapeLost ParadiseMountain Sounds, Perth’s CIRCO and Holy Ship. Earlier this year, Francesco completed a US tour with headline shows and support sets with Flight Facilities and Flume, dotted across the country. Next week, Touch Sensitive makes his debut with a full band, touring nationally for Listen Out Festival, featuring LA-based artist & vocalist Harriet Brown.

Visions is an album that fans have been waiting years for, with the result going above and beyond our wildest expectations. It's sure to be considered as one of 2017's most outstanding releases.
