How are you finding isolation? What are you doing to keep occupied?

It is obviously a very challenging time for a lot of people, but I’m embracing this isolation time.  It’s allowed me to hone into my music and other creative outlets like learning a new language and diving into some visual arts.

Tell us about Joy?

"Joy" is my second singleand pays homage to my gospel roots - we even recorded a beautiful soul sounding choir with my family and friend’s in my sisters lounge room - how good is technology right! .   I guess “Joy” could be seen as an anthem of positive affirmation - something that’s pretty relevant to our current times.  I’m determined to wake up every morning with a sense of deep gratitude towards life and “Joy” is my way of sharing something special with the world.

What is some advice you would give to yourself five years ago?

1.  Think less and do more. - I used to over think things before doing it. Sometimes I’d psych myself out, but that happens less now.

2.  Release your first song ASAP - The fear of judgments, comparison and failing is the biggest dream killer.

What can we expect next from Voli K?

I can’t wait to share more original music. I worked with an amazing producer Jerome Farrah (Baker Boy, Kian, Adrian Eagle) and couldn’t be prouder of the result.  The music is personal but has a lot of universal themes I think people will connect with.  Can’t wait to get out and play this music live once life returns to some resemblance of ’normal’.
