Another huge festival lineup has been added to the summer with the announcement of the second annual Grow Your Own music festival.

The one-day festival will feature Cloud Control, Skegss, The Belligerents, The Babe Rainbow, The Gooch Palms, Ruby Fields, Alex the Astronaut, LOS SCALLYWAGGS, The Ruiins and The Little Quirks, with DJ sets from I OH YOU DJs and Pina Coladascope.

The festival centres on homegrown talent and produce and will be held in Forster- Tuncurry on NSW’s Mid North Coast on Friday, December 22 at the Tuncurry Footy Fields.

Grow Your Own brings national music to a regional area while supporting homegrown talent, whether that comes in the form of a band, fresh farmed produce or a local clothing label. The festival includes a “Growers Area” featuring Mid North Coast producers and farmers.

‘Our line up this year is filled with bands who grow their own paths in music and always, most always, grow away from the pack. They’ve taken the path less travelled, they’ve made their own thing in the darkness of the times - its bright and real and colour filled.’ said Grow Your Own Director Holly Rankin (aka Jack River).

Grow Your Own is excited to welcome Cloud Control back to the Great Lakes after they recorded their latest album in Charlotte Bay last year. The line up features nationally successful Forster boys Skegss for the

first time ever, last week's triple j feature album troubadours The Belligerents, along with Bigsound break out acts, Alex The Astronaut and Ruby Fields.

Grow Your Own's Creative Director Lee McConnell, former Mambo Art Director and the artist responsible for the artwork of Dune Rats No.1 album 'The Kids Will Know It’s Bullshit' , says the festival theme for this year is ‘Growth in Dark Times’.

"Taking influence from the natural beauty of our area we are shining light on positive and creative aspects that can come from such a turbulent political time. Our art direction this year was to run parallel with the curation of the line-up - a psychedelic rock feel with fluro colours.. As the sun sets on 2017, the illuminated creatures come out to play," said Grow Your Own Creative Director Lee McConnell.

Grow Your Own wants you to think about where your food comes from, the clothes on your back and the music in your ears while having a hell of a time in a coastal town with its own buzz, real far from the city.
