What's PLGRMS' favourite thing about creating music together.

Hey PLGRMS! Thanks for catching up with us today.

Congratulations on the release of 'Limbs'! Can you tell us what the track's about?

I think we've probably all met someone that acts impulsive and fearless, then fixates on maintaining that reputation.

"Show me who you really are." This was my inclination towards someone who always had their walls up. But to feel someone lower their defences and explore that with you was like finding gold.

Your music has a really beautiful cinematic element running through it - what has influenced the style of music you create?

We both come from a background of playing music with "real" instruments. I studied jazz in uni before playing in a number of different bands and Jake was initially a singer-songwriter before joining PLGRMS. So the music we grew up listening to and surrounded ourselves with was grounded in melody. I think this, combined with the electronic elements present, give our music really cinematic sound.

What's your favourite thing about creating music together?

Broadly speaking, I am very focused on melody, production and the overall sound, whereas Jake is all about lyrics, melody and the smaller details...so our writing styles and strengths really complement each other.

You worked with a pretty legendary team to put 'Limbs' together. How did those collaborations come about?

Ross (our producer aka upsidedownhead) and Luke (drummer of The Preatures fame) we've been friends with for a long time and have worked on songs with them previously. Dan Grech (mix engineer) and Leon Zervos (mastering engineer) were label/management hook ups...we were pretty lucky!

What releases do you have on repeat at the moment?

upsidedownhead - twice as tough (ft. Mansionair)
Sycco - Dribble

A little birdie told us to expect more from PLGRMS in 2020. What can you tell us about that?

We've finished a whole bunch of new music that we'll slowly drip feed for the rest of year, culminating in the release of a larger body of work in likely early-2021.
