COSMO'S MIDNIGHT SHARE NEW SINGLE "MIND OFF" FEAT. KUDU BLUE
One of the country’s most forward-thinking electronic acts, twin beat-makers Cosmo’s Midnight return today with a stunning new single “Mind Off” featuring Kudu Blue, as premiered yesterday via triple j’s Good Nights.
Co-written with George Reid of AlunaGeorge, "Mind Off" is bursting with gritty synth, lush melodies and a pulsating bass line. Swarming vocals arrive from UK artist Clementine Douglas of Kudu Blue, binding all elements together in a blissful web. “Mind Off” relays the duo's incredible ability to take the classic foundations of a pop song and drench it in wild beats, creating an addictive and radical dance track.
Following their Splendour In The Grass appearance in July, Cosmo's Midnight have just announced they'll be embarking on a world tour. From August, the duo will head to Asia for a string of shows including an appearance at Jakarta's We The Fest, before returning to the US to bring their eclectic live show to selected cities.
It’s been an incredible year for Sydney-siders, Patrick and Cosmo Liney, kicking it off with a debut North American tour. Selling out shows at The Roxy in LA and Rough Trade in New York, Cosmo’s Midnight cemented their place as one of Australia’s biggest electronic forces. The pair then returned home and headed out on a sold-out national tour, which included three hometown Sydney shows. To top it off, the duo also signed with prestigious US label RCA Records, joining other Aussie acts Peking Duck, Sia and Betty Who.
Their previous single “History” is currently 2017's most played song on triple j and has clocked over 6 million Spotify streams. Meanwhile “Walk With Me” ft. Kučka from 2015's Moments EP has clocked over 20 million, bringing their total online stream count to 34 million and counting.
Their iconic blend of intelligent electronica and left-field pop has earned a reputation worldwide. Trusted by the likes of Flume, Goldlink, Porter Robinson, Anna Lunoe and Alunageorge for their unique and unpredictable transformations, the twins have lent their own remix talents to some of electronic music’s most high profile releases.
Together with a new single, a growing global audience and another international tour on the horizon, it's looking like Cosmo's Midnight's biggest year yet.
