Motez shares new single & video "The Future" ahead of national headline tour
Following the recent announce of his national headline "The Future" tour presented by triple j, Maker, Leisurely and Sweat It Out, Adelaide maestro Motez now reveals his heavenly new single and video of the same name, as heard via triple j’s Good Nights.
Sonically, “The Future” is a new progression. Following previous internationally acclaimed single and triple j favourite “Praise”, "The Future" features uplifting vocals from Antony & Cleopatra interwoven between verses, while the Barossa Valley's St. Jakobi Lutheran Primary School lend their choir to help take the chorus to new heights. Generously melodic with an infectious rhythm to dictate the track's mood - Motez's masterful production is of enriching detail.
Premiering via Clash, the video takes us to a city rooftop where a man and woman reminisce on a life they once had through choreographed movement. Together, the pair capture the emotion and flow of the track, channelling its vulnerability through contemporary motions, making it a highly affecting visual offering for Motez's latest release. The video was directed by Katzki, the talented artist behind the infamous RüFüS clip for "Innerbloom".
Motez will soon head to the US for a string of North American shows, before returning home to embark on his largest ever national tour, joined by Sydney-sider Mickey Kojak and Adelaide’s Tigerilla. Kicking off in September, Motez will be bringing his dynamic new live show to all major Australian cities with regional dates still to be confirmed.
The Baghdad-via-Adelaide artist has been spreading his infectious releases since 2010. Last year's acclaimed The Vibe EP watched him join forces with Australian rap queen Tkay Maidza, house maestro Wax Motif and West London’s MC Scrufizzer to receive nods of approval from triple j and BBC Radio 1's MistaJam, Annie Mac and Phil Taggart, before embarking on a live sold-out headline tour of Australia and New Zealand.
Renowned for his dynamic originals and official remixes for the likes of Goldlink, Disclosure and Ellie Goulding, Motez has earned praise from dance icons and figureheads such as Destructo, Justin Martin, Diplo and recent Grammy Award winner Flume, as well as guest slots on globally renowned radio shows Diplo & Friends, Beats1 Radio and triple j Mix Up Exclusives.
