Alex Lahey Announces 'Wes Anderson' National Tour

Having just returned from an amazing run of shows in the UK with Tegan and Sara, and just before she jets off for her first U.S tour and SXSW showcase performances, Alex Lahey is excited to announce a headline run of shows in May. In celebration of her recent Wes Anderson video Alex will hit the road with her good friend and video co-star ‘Planky’ to test out some of the new songs from her forthcoming debut album set for release later this year.

2016 was an incredible year for Lahey which saw her release her debut EP ‘B Grade University’ to great acclaim with 3 out of the 5 tracks added to triple j rotation. Her hit single ‘You Don’t Think You Like People Like Me’ snagged the tick of approval from Pitchfork, which received the highly coveted ‘Best New Track’, and shortly after she snapped up the opening spot on Splendour In The Grass for triple j Unearthed. It didn’t stop there, in November Alex won Best Female Artist at The Age Music Victoria Awards, then finished off 2016 with news that she was the most played artist on Unearthed radio.

In what is sure to be a landmark year for Lahey things are certainly off to a good start, with ‘You Don’t Think You Like People Like Me’ earning a spot on triple j’s  Hottest 100, followed by the announcement that she has signed to renowned indie label Dead Oceans (Secretly Group) for all territories outside of Australia. Lahey has truly set her sights on making 2017 another huge year as she edges closer to the release of her highly anticipated debut album due out later this year.
