Dappled Cities - Unveil Fifth Studio Album |||||

After the longest wait between albums in their 18-year career Dappled Cities return with their fifth full-length album ||||| (pronounced FIVE) - recorded and produced by Luke Bertoz and the band themselves.

As the title suggests, ||||| is the Sydney indie pop group’s fifth, and most accomplished, record. Filled with quiet self-assurance, it features Dappled Cities’ trademark even-split of songwriting, singing and deft guitar work of Dave Rennick and Tim Derricourt, along with the layered backbone of sound provided by bassist Alex Moore, drummer Allan Kumpulainen and textured sonics added by keyboardist Ned Cooke.

Established fans of Dappled Cities will find much to celebrate across the eleven tracks of this new release. Tapping into the timeless qualities of ’70s mavericks like David Bowie and Roxy Music and recorded in the serene surrounds of Byron Bay, the loved and celebrated statesmen of Australian Indie-pop have created a soundtrack to life that reflects a mature Dappled Cities.

Additionally, new fans have discovered the reinvigorated quintet via the undeniably sexy feel of recently released songs, as evidenced by the support for lead tracks from the album, “That Sound” and “Stone Men”, pushing those tracks to the top on Spotify, Apple Music and Pandora playlists (Incl. New Music Friday, Fresh Finds, Six Strings & This Week Sounds Like).

Dappled Cities are supporting the release of ||||| with live shows across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, including a featured performance to coincide with VIVID Sydney on June 4th 2017.
