What do you get if you cross Flight Facilities, Elizabeth Rose and a healthy dose of 70s/80s disco soul? A damn good time we say, and of course, the gorgeous debut release from Florian (aka Mikaela Dean), ‘Star Crossed Lovers’.

Considering these weren’t decades she even lived through, Florian’s debut does a pretty convincing job of tapping into the synth laden disco nostalgia of the time. With soaring vocals and a beat so catchy you simply can’t escape it, it’s hard to believe this is Florian’s first release.

Written in a single night, ‘Star Crossed Lovers’ emerged from the melting pot that is Dean’s myriad of influences. Produced by Ross Ferraro (The Goods, The Posse), and mastered by Dave Cooley (Anderson Paak, J Dilla, Birds of Tokyo), the uplifting love song is the perfect way to start your weekend.

As soon as you wrap your ears around this one, there’s really only one thing left to do… get up and dance.
