Mike Champion bends genres in new single

R&B singer-songwriter Mike Champion has released a daring new track that fuses nostalgic 90's R&B grooves with modern electronic drops, aptly titled - "Bend The Rules". What makes the track truly unique, Mike who is originally of South African descent has for the first time showcased this side musically, with a cheeky but catchy rap verse Afrikaan styled to close out the song, it's so fresh you would think it's a feature from another rapper.
In his own words, Mike has this to say about this daring new single:
βBend The Rulesβ is about the possibilities. It is a groove infused rhythm written about transcending restrictions. My writing is expressed through the idea of having inter-racial relations with a stranger or neighbour. I reference my South African heritage because I identify as a coloured male. I am the outcome of different races being risky & interacting with each other physically during Apartheid. My question to you is Where can you βBend The Rulesβ to create positive change? #BTRChallenge
