NOOSA FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL RELEASES PROGRAM FOR THE WOODS
If you go down to the Noosa Woods on the 19-21 May, you’re sure of a big surprise and that’s because Noosa Food and Wine Festival has just released its program of events.
The Noosa Woods, will be transformed into a wine and produce village, home to more than 30 wineries where tastings will be in abundance. The region’s best producers, cheese makers and saluministi will also be present, making sure no one goes home hungry.
The Noosa Woods will also be home to the ultimate Festival music takeover. Billed as ‘FOR THOSE WHO KNOW’ this line-up will bring together - Hugo Gruzman, Jimmy 2 Sox, Surahn, Wealth, Greg Sara and Tim Sullivan.
A one-off roll out of Australian dance music royalty teaming up for the festival weekend, artists whose credits include Flight Facilities, Empire Of The Sun and The Swiss to name a few. Woven across three magic festival nights this troupe of DJs, producers, musicians and vocalists bring the disco bump to the Noosa Food & Wine Festival's after dark activities. Let your hair down and don't miss your chance to catch this band of misfits in action.
With a great selection of bars offering a variety of beverages, nobody will go thirsty! At the heart of The Woods will be the vineyard themed Dal Zotto Prosecco Bar, with Prosecco cocktails and Cicchetti dishes created by Noosa Boathouse. Other bars include, Sticks Wine and Cheese Bar, Asahi Super Dry Oyster Bar, Sunset Lounge presented by Miss Moneypenny’s and the Cider Lab Harvest Bar.
Festival Director, Maria Crews, says The Noosa Woods will come to life and should not be missed this year.
“The Woods wine and produce village is a must-attend and should be added to your festival to do list! Visitors can walk around the village and meet, taste and buy wines from 30 winemakers. We will also be showcasing the best produce from the region – I recommend that you taste the produce and meet the growers from Slow Food Noosa and Noosa Farmers Market.
“We have a great line-up of music for the Festival Sunset Sets and the best part is, all entertainment is included in your ticket price!”
Something you don’t get to see everyday is a Winemaker Smackdown! Nick Stock will host this event where the Festival winemakers will go head to head convincing visitors who makes the best and why we should be drinking their wine! There be will be no ‘whining’, just a lot of competitiveness.
Hilary McNevin will host the festival chefs on the cooking stage, as they share their secrets and tricks of the trade. The line-up includes Sat Bains, Geoff Lindsay, Adam D’yslva, Alessandro Pavoni, Frank Camorra, Giovanni Pilu, Matt Golinksi, Monty Kuludrovic, Luke Mangan, Massimo Mele, Jake Nicholson, Ben Williamson, Ben O’Donoghue, Ian Curley and Jo Barrett.
The Woods will run on Friday 19th May from 5pm until 10pm, from 11am until 10pm on Saturday 20th and from 11am until 5pm on Sunday 21st. Tickets can be purchased online for $30 or $35 on the door and includes first glass of wine and Plumm wine glass to keep. Kids aged 12 and under are free.
More than seventy events will take place across the four-day event, which will run from 18th until 21st May. A total of 45 visiting chefs from Australia’s best restaurants will flock to this year’s festival, which will have a presence across two festival villages – Noosa Main Beach and The Woods. Noosa’s top restaurants will also enjoy local collaborations as they play host to a number of visiting chefs.
