One of Australia’s breakout electronic artists, Ribongia today shares his new single and video for “Golden” featuring Owen Rabbit, out now on October Records.

Accompanying the single is news of signing to prestigious touring agency Poster Child, joining acclaimed acts KilterRoyalstonEbony Boadu and ODD MOB to name a few. In celebration of their latest addition, Poster Child are sending Ribongia on an East Coast tour, with shows in Sydney, Wollongong and Adelaide, as well as festival appearances at THIS THAT in Newcastle and Lost Paradise over New Years Eve.

Opening with an eclectic beat and delicate synths, "Golden" is quick to introduce the untamed vocals of Melbourne-based producer and songwriter Owen Rabbit. Having garnered attention from the likes of BBC1 (UK)Beats 1triple jStereogum and The Fader, Owen's harmony-laden vocals are balanced perfectly with Ribongia's innovative & electronic soundscapes to create a raw and beautiful production.

Owen Rabbit says of the track “Golden is about the Eucalyptus tree. These trees need bush-fires to complete their life cycles. They have evolved to be more flammable because they need fire to die to make space for their seeds to germinate. I saw this as a parable, easing my fear of pain and change. It also serves as a natural, recurring reminder that nothing is immutable, our fate is bound to natural laws and we are stupid if we think we’re in control."

The track is met by stunning visuals that feature elements exploring the relationship between dance and nature; subjects painted in shimmering gold paint, a blaring sunshine, a delicate fire and a golden beach - each element of the video reinforcing the focus on gold, interpreted through life and art.

“Golden” follows the release of Ribongia's double a-side which was released earlier this year, featuring “Before The Winter” with Jannah Beth & YoungstaCPT and “Sonder”, with both tracks finding themselves at home on community radio. Since the release of his debut EP It Began, Ribongia has developed a reputation for delivering quality left-of-field electronica, consistently pushing the boundaries with a diverse range of influences and collaborators. His 2016 follow up EP ESCAPISMS received international acclaim, with Pigeons and Planes taking the first listen and landing him a nomination for Record of the Year at the FBi Radio SMAC Awards

Aside from releasing new material, Ribongia maintained a strong live presence last year, notably supporting Hermitude on their 14-date European tour and performing with Ngaiire’s band at Safiko Musik Festival on Reunion Island (off the coast of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean). He also embarked on a national EP tour, which saw him perform to record crowds across eight shows.

"Golden" marks the anticipated return of Ribongia, with more exciting offerings around the corner from the talented Firenze-via-Sydney producer.
