THE BASICS ANNOUNCE BRAND NEW LIVE ALBUM 'IN THE RUDE' & SINGLE WITH THIS SHIP

Suave Melbourne trio The Basics have announced their brand new live album 'In The Rude' will be released on Friday, May 27.

To celebrate the announce of 'In The Rude', The Basics have released their new single and music video With This Ship taken from the live album.

The album, recorded at Melbourne's legendary Howler, is The Basics' third live album and their first release since political-punch album 'Age of Entitlement' in 2015.

Since then, The Basics have been relatively quiet but despite their long break the men's on-stage chemistry is still resounding.

"Every time we have a break from playing together, I'm always amazed how quickly it comes back together," said guitarist, Tim Heath.

'In The Rude' will be the first the world has heard from the man behind international sensation Gotye, Wally De Backer, and he's very excited to be on stage again.

"I haven't been playing live with my solo project (Gotye), so its simply refreshing to play live in itself. Lazy right foot on the drums, that's for sure!" said De Backer.

It's been a tumultuous few years for the blokes of The Basics, but this release marks a coming together for the three long time friends.

"We're almost like a family. You can't choose each other maybe; you go through some hard times and some great times, you have to look after each other because the whole thing will fall apart otherwise." said Heath.
