After the massive success of their first creative collaboration in Brisbane – Tkay Maidza and Ego today announce a surprise second show for their fusion of art and live music – this time in MELBOURNE on Thursday August 24. For this event series, Tkay decided to ‘underthink it’ herself and crowd-sourced the next location through facebook. She put the word out and Melbourne answered. The result? These two incredible talents are joining forces once again thanks to the party people of ROAM with a free show that promises to be even bigger and better than the first, with more surprise guests and epic extras.

Fusing beer with spirits & fruit, ROAM pairs harmonious flavours together and is excited to combine two powerhouses of creativity; Australia's queen of electronic hip-hop, Tkay Maidza and leading visual artist EGO, to collaborate for this fusion of live music and art.

World class warm up DJs will throw some heat on the dancefloor to begin the night followed by the main event, Tkay and Ego. Activating a visually stunning stage backdrop - live painted on stage while Tkay Maidza performs, Ego projection maps his signature style animations onto the artworks, bringing the evolving backdrop to life with Tkay as the soundscape. This collaboration and event series is entirely unique and un-repeatable.

Tkay Maidza has risen out from the underground since the tender age of 15 to emerge as one of Australia’s most captivating artists and a global force. Ego has spent the last few years wowing audiences around Australia and the world with his visual work and live performances, recently exhibiting at Sydney’s VIVID Festival as well as MONA FOMA to rave reviews. Ego's effortless visual style is an ideal match for Tkay's electric live show. Both Tkay and Ego are trailblazers in their worlds, they don't overthink things. In fact, they 'underthink it' and just got for it when it comes to their art. It's this carefree and seemingly effortless attitude that makes these two talented cross genre artists the perfect pairing for such an event.
