ROLLING STONE LIVE LODGE 2017 ANNOUNCES FIRST ARTIST LINEUP
After successfully running its own pop-up bar for the past four years in Sydney and Melbourne, Rolling Stone brings the Rolling Stone Live Lodge 2017 to Sydney's Lansdowne Hotel, for its fifth instalment.
Located in Chippendale, just outside the infamous Sydney lockout zone, The Lansdowne is rich in Australian music history, and since its recent re-launch has once again become one of Sydney’s most beloved venues. Rolling Stone will be taking over the band room for three entertainment-packed weeks between September 20th and October 7th.
This bespoke bar, open seven nights a week, will be the hottest hang in town with punters treated to live performances with a Rolling Stone twist, artist Q&As and guest DJs.
Matt Coyte, Rolling Stone Editor-in-Chief, reflects on his times at the hotel, “Some of my fondest memories occurred at the Lansdowne, from seeing Magic Dirt for the first time to discovering grunge pioneer Mudhoney.”
“We’ve picked a schedule of entertainment that we think stands up against any from the pub’s history, from well-known local acts to up-and-coming artists. Come and have a drink and a Mary’s burger pizza with us!”
Booker of The Lansdowne, Matt Rule says, "Rolling Stone is such an iconic brand, and having long played a pivotal role in the live music scene, we're stoked to be able to team up with them for an amazing run of shows at a legendary venue."
Highlight events on the Rolling Stone Live Lodge calendar include I Know Leopard launching their latest single "Let Go"; Melbourne punk-metallers High Tension premiering brand new material ahead of their new album release; an evening of irresistible synth-pop from LASTLINGS; extreme entertainment from globe-trotting party punks The Gooch Palms and genre-hopping Adelaide rockers Horror My Friend; hip-hop wunderkind Citizen Kay launching his new album BELLY OF THE BEAST; and much more still to be announced!
The Rolling Stone Live Lodge also features a free ‘In Conversation With Josh Pyke’ event, featuring a Q&A with the ARIA Award winning artist, who’ll also perform a few solo acoustic songs as the mood strikes!
Entry to the Live Lodge will be ticketed through Oztix. Free tickets to the 'In Conversation with Josh Pyke' evening can also be claimed through Oztix.
