A QUICK CHAT WITH CARLOS FROM BOOTLEG RASCAL
Congrats on the new single guys! Such a cool track. Can you tell us what it’s about?
‘We Independent’ is about the change that is happening and coming for Bootleg Rascal. You will definitely hear some more rapping coming from me and phat produced beats.
How are you guys coping with these crazy times? Have you picked up any new interests or skills?
Honestly, pretty good! I haven’t really picked up something new, but I’ve definitely improving on some of my playing. I bought a really cheap piano and I’ve been absolutely loving jamming on that and brushing up on my skills there.
You guys had an East Coast tour booked earlier this year. Obviously, it has had to be rescheduled to later in the year. As a band it would have been difficult to postpone a tour so close to the date. How did you overcome this set back?
It’s obviously disappointing, but everyone is in the same boat or even worse off. We’re just thankful we’ve got such a supportive network around us of our management, agents, publicists and most importantly our fans, who we love so much. I think they’re just as keen as us to get back to live shows again.
It’s great to see every band and artist doing their best to be proactive. I think we’re going to see some pretty special music released given we all have more time to write, record and release.
If you guys had to be stuck in isolation with an artist, dead or alive, who would you choose?
I honestly don't know off the top of my head. There are so many people to choose from. I can tell you who I wouldn't want to spend iso with and that’s Lime Cordiale – we hate those guys.
Can we expect more new tunes from Bootleg Rascal in the near future?
Definitely! We have a staggered EP titled ‘Collaborations of Very Isolated Delinquents “19’, which will see a track drop every month in between now and September.
